Resulted in a death and numerous injuries
Travis Kelce‘s ex-partner, Kayla Nicole, expressed solidarity after the tragic shooting incident during the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Super Bowl LVIII parade. The parade was cut short due to the incident, resulting in the death of local radio DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan and injuries to 22 others, including 11 children.
While Kelce escaped unharmed, he shared his heartbreak over the tragedy. Kayla Nicole also expressed her sentiments on the incident.
“Sending my love and prayers to the KC community and all those affected by the senseless shooting today. Y’all are forever in my heart,” she wrote on X.
“I hope we never ever become desensitized by the overwhelming amount of gun violence in this country. Enough is enough.”
Another US shooting
In response to the shooting, three individuals, suspected to be the perpetrators, were arrested. Kelce took a moment of peace to pose with a group of policemen at the Granfalloon Bar and Restaurant later that evening.
The incident was harrowing for everyone present, including Kelce‘s mother, Donna, who shared her experience with the Kansas City Star.
“Everybody who was with the team, they got us out of there really fast,” she noted.
Head coach Andy Reid, actively involved in the evacuation, demonstrated leadership during the chaotic situation. The community is now coming together to process the impact of the tragic event.
