Kim Kardashian has been accused of ‘eco-terrorism’ after tallying up more than 30 flights with her private jet since January 1 – including a staggering five in one day, and multiple 10 minute journeys.

Despite the growing backlash against A-list stars like Taylor Swift over their constant use of private jets, the reality star appears to have made no efforts to minimize her usage in 2024.

In fact, the 43-year-old’s aircraft has been used to make 15 trips since the start of 2024 that were under 40 minutes, with the jet spending less than 15 minutes in the air on eight of those journeys.

Based on statistics tracked by kimkjet on Instagram, the flights have used over 35,420 gallons of fuel to date and have released 425 tons of C02 emissions.

The Skims mogul would need to plant 7,027 trees and allow them to grow for 10 years to offset the environmental impact of her flights.

This is equivalent to the energy consumption of 55 houses in one year or the electricity use of 83 homes for one year, as calculated by the Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator.

The billionaire acquired a Gulfstream G650ER jet in 2022 for a reported $95 million. She customized the aircraft with bespoke modifications, increasing its reported value to $150 million.

Dubbed ‘Kim Air’, the jet was first revealed to the public during an episode of her family’s Hulu reality show, The Kardashians.

The SKKN founder’s most notable trip occurred during her visit to France in late January for Paris Fashion Week.

After flying from California to New Orleans, the star then flew to Paris on January 25 and attended the Maison Margiela Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 show.

However, she left Paris the same day and returned to Los Angeles, California, on January 26 to attend her son Saint West’s basketball game.

Her jet was then reportedly back in Paris on January 27, although it does not appear that she was on board.

On February 24, Kim’s jet embarked on one of its shortest journeys, flying for a mere five minutes between Isles-lès-Villenoy and Paris in France.

This brief trip resulted in nearly one ton of CO2 emissions and consumed 90 gallons of jet fuel, estimated to cost around $506.

Weeks earlier, on January 31, the jet flew from Van Nuys to Camarillo, both in California, in just 10 minutes.

On February 10, Kim took a 35-minute flight from Van Nuys to Las Vegas, Nevada, ahead of the Super Bowl final the following day, which she attended with her new partner, Odell Beckham Jr.

This journey, which emitted approximately four tons of CO2, could have been completed in under five hours by car.

The multimillion-dollar jet was particularly active on February 12, the day after the final, flying a total of five times and seemingly transporting her celebrity friends, including Justin and Hailey Bieber, from the sporting event.

The first trip was from Las Vegas to Van Nuys and back again. Subsequently, it flew from Las Vegas to Camarillo, California.

From there, it traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, in a one-hour flight, before returning to Camarillo.

These journeys would have released just under 20 tons of CO2 emissions.

Kim’s eyebrow-raising jet usage comes shortly after revelations that she was ranked as the second biggest celebrity CO2 polluter of 2023, according to data collected from the myclimate Carbon Tracker.

The reality star ranked second only to American rapper Travis Scott, who shares children with Kim’s half-sister, Kylie Jenner.

Her extensive jet usage has raised questions about the sincerity of her commitments to environmental causes through her business ventures.

According to her brand Skims, the company claims to work exclusively with suppliers and vendors who share their dedication to sustainability, accountability, and transparency.

Skims also states that 10 percent of the proceeds from their Ultimate Nipple Bra are allocated to One Percent for the Planet, an organization focused on global environmental issues.

The company emphasizes its eco-friendly practices, including the use of FSC recycled paper boxes and compostable bags instead of plastic and non-recyclable materials.

However, the environmental impact of her frequent jet travel has prompted some fans to question her claims. One Instagram user simply commented, “Eco-terrorism.”

Another fan referenced Kim’s use of reusable Skims cotton fabric for Christmas wrapping, sarcastically stating, “But she uses reusable Christmas wrapping so it evens out [rolling eyes emoji].”
